Help! How do I do it! Any suggestions?

It's tough, believe me. I'm no expert, but in order for me to do my accelerated nursing program (ABSN), I had to quit my job. Luckily, between dads help and student loans, I was able to go to school and pay my bills. Talk to the financial aid office at the school you want to go to, and see what they say. You can also get lots of private student loans to help cover the costs while in school. All these student loans do not need to be repaid until after you graduate, so you can concentrate on school now, and worry about the bills later. And, while in school, you may still be able to hold a part-time job and bring in a little more money. Also, if you really need to work more hours, just cut back on your school load, and you can work more hours. It will take you longer to get your nursing degree, but in the end, you will have accomplished your goals. If you choose to get loans to help you out while in school you may owe a lot of money when you get out of school, but many hospitals will help pay off your student loans. Anyway, as the saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way." Do what you must to follow your dreams. Hope this helps.

if i can do it so can you. i work full time my husband is a full time engineering student, i attend 2 colleges full time and we have 6 kids...it can be done. do what you have to do to get it done...

how do you do it though? We are already poor...I dont want to be in worse shape.

I know people do it all the time, but how do you do it? I cant imagine all that and 6 kids.

I couldn't have done it without the Federal Nursing Scholarship. They paid for EVERYTHING except my background check, drug test, application to the BON and my NCLEX fee. They gave me $1600 for incidentals (uniforms, stethescope etc) AND they sent me $1164 a MONTH for a stipend.

The catch... I have to work at a hospital considered in critical shortage of nurses.... almost everywhere that employs nurses qualifies.

i just do it day by day..paycheck by paycheck. i know that soon i will not have to live like that so it is worth it. i am poor and don't live fancy. take advantage of all the financial aid you can get. use some of that money to pay bills ahead. one thing is i may go without, but my kids do not . i always make sure they have everything they need for school and such. sometimes you have to hit the bottom before you climb to the top!!!

how do you do it though? we are already poor...i dont want to be in worse shape.

o.k so i won't complain anymore. i am trying to figure out how my husband and i are going to work and get the kids off to school once we move. i will be working fulltime and so will he. we have 5 kids ages 9-2. and i just have this feeling that we will need to use before and after school childcare and daycare/preschool for the little ones. i hate working just to then hand my check over to the babysitter. hang in there. it will all be worth it in the end.
