Help! How to find a hospital that hires new grads ?

Specializes in OR.

I am from Moscow, Russia and graduated nursing school long ago. I had 1 y. in OR. I have RN license in NY,but no expirience at all in USA. What to do? Is voluntering in the hospital helps to get in?

I would just start calling around..

I would polish my resume and start submitting it everywhere. Most hospitals (even the small ones) allow you to apply online and include your electronic resume. Maybe you can turn this into a positive: you're bilingual! We actually have a fairly large Russian population in Cincinnati, OH. (I know, who would think?) At Jewish Hospital there are several doctors who speak Russian, and it is not uncommon to get sweet little old ladies who don't speak a word of English. As long as you are licensed in the U.S. I think you will be O.K. I, too, am currently looking for a job (I'm a new grad). Everyone tells me that hiring will pick up in January when hospitals start on their 2009 budgets. I will be thinking of you!

Thank you for your kind words. I'll do that. Good luck!
