help me get on track! online courses to supplement ADN?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

I moved and left the nursing program of a comm college in my 4th semester:crying2: Now we have moved back and i will be starting this fall:yeah: I have all my ADN co-req's and have chosen a university to get my RN-BSN completely online - East Carolina University. Its a good college here in NC. I will be finished with all their req pre-reqs to get into their BSN this summer. Heres a link to ECU's pre req's if anyones interested!

So when i finish those, is there anything else i can do online in the mean time without actually having my ADN yet? This same college only requires the same pre-reqs for their masters too. I was looking at ed2go.com, there are classes on there to get certificates in certain areas, such as pain assesment. Are those helpful at all? Worth 150 bucks?

Or could I work in classes for a minor? I love psychology but I am getting my ADn at a comm college, then BSM online....so not sure how that would work. Ive been though the nursing program already and could handle an extra class here and there to work on a minor or something.

Lots of ? so thanks in advance for any help!!!

PS- for other minors any info about office admin or business related jobs- I do not know much about different areas in nursing but after my BSN i would like some sort of office/management type job. I think. I love planning and organizing info!

Can someone just let me know any benefit that the certificates on ed2go would have? There are pain assessment, gerontology, end of life care, oxygenation, integrative health, legal and ethical issues, ETC. You do not have to have your RN already to take them, any insight?! thanks

I think you might want to run your questions by the school you've chosen for your BSN. When will you graduate with your ADN?

Thanks! Im just re-entering this fall so 2 years..again lol. I completed my pre-reqs for ADN when i was in the program before, and am have almost completed my pre-reqs required for the chosen school for my BSN. I just didn't know if theres anything else I can do now that those are finished too! So I was looking into these certificates but are they acknowledged by employers when hiring is what Im wondering....if it would benefit to have them I guess.

I will check with the BSN school about maybe a minor in psych or buisiness...or do minors not count for much anyways...

I'm pretty sure there will be "elective" credits you will need so take something you find interesting (make sure it will transfer of course by calling the school)

the certificate programs on ed2go if you click on the one you one to do..for instance geriontology it says in the description how many contact hours its worth and who it is geared towards, all look like they are okay for nurses, lpns, rns, student nursing, CNAs etc
