Help in Georgia! EC. Advice Please!

I just got the call that I will still be required to do the 350 clinical hours even though I fit the criteria in the latest bill. I've been so excited waiting on my license to be posted. I didn't even consider this an option! Is there someone specific I should speak with? Please help me!

I would guess speak with someone at EC about the process. If I'm not mistaken, although we may meet the criteria for licensure based on the bill, I'm sure that if we read between the lines the board, at their discretion, can require precepted hours of anyone they please. I meet the criteria also (but not finished with program yet) but would not be too terribly surprised if I am required to complete preceptorship. I'm just glad at this point to know that EC is accepted in this state.

Thanks and good luck. I spoke with the woman from yesterday's supervisor and she wasn't any help(or nice). She said to me, "You can do the 350 precepted hours or you can go work in another state for 1800 hours".

I know I should feel grateful that I can be accepted at all, but the board isn't following the House Bill. I'm also not having any luck finding a hospital to do clinical at.

I believe that they are going to make all students do the precptorship.
