HELP! Future TN RN :)

Hello All!

I was hoping some of you would be able to help shed some light on the nursing programs in TN.

I currently live in CA, and will be moving to TN next June. All my nursing prereqs have been completed at the community college I attend in CA, so I plan to apply to a program in TN once I move.

My boyfriend is currently an EMT for AMR here in CA and will be doing a transfer to Nashville AMR.

So we are planning on moving somewhere close to the Nashville area. I was wondering if anyone had any school recommendations?

I was looking at Motlow, Nashville State, and Volunteer. I am planning on getting my ADN then BSN at a university. I didn't know if anyone had any recommendations? I would like to attend a school that's in the Nashville area as that's most likely where we will be living. Also, if anyone has any town recommendations near Nashville to live in that would be appreciated as well!

Thanks!!

MTSU has an excellent BSN program, although it is highly competitive. I would recommend that you make an appointment with a pre-nursing advisor there to review your prerequisite courses from your CA school to assure that everything meets the MTSU requirements. The MTSU program is highly competitive, so simply meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Be cautious of the TSU program, as it is rumored that the program is being dissolved. Cumberland University also has a nursing program.
