So I've been having a really hard time trying to decide what type of nurse I want to be. In my heart I want to work with maternity in a hospital but I don't want to be an RN. Can anyone tell me the different types nurses that work in that area???

I've always thought that Lactation Consultants have a super cool job. They're RNs, so yes, you would need some OB experience beforehand. But this does not require an advanced degree; simply additional educational classes/hours. The job seems cool to me because moms can get scared/frustrated when they struggle to nurse their babies. I've had friends who felt lesser when they struggled with breastfeeding. So I think it would be really neat to be the person who coaches them and helps them in that area. The Lactation Consultants that I've met seem to have high job satisfaction too.

Only other job would be Nurse Midwife which requires a graduate degree.
