Hi
I just wanted to reach out for some advice on the hiring process for new graduate RN's. I passed my NCLEX in October. I had applied to jobs for months even before passing my boards and then finally I had the interview for my dream job in a hospital. They basically extended a job offer to me on the spot, they were staffing an entire unit and were looking for new grads!! I was so excited finally I was getting my shot. The nurse manager said that HR would call me the next week to begin the hiring process however the next week came and went with no call from HR. The next week I sent a follow up email to the hiring manager and just called HR in order to follow up. The nurse manager did call me back apologizing for the wait and explaining to me what occurred she said I would hear the next week and then I still did not hear anything. It has been 5 weeks since my initial interview and I haven't heard a thing. I was just wondering if I should f/u again or should I just assume I did not actually get the position and move on. I am so distraught because this is a position I always wanted in a hospital I absolutely love. Thank you for your help.

What did HR say? It sounds like they might be a little behind and busy getting the new unit rolling. Go in person to HR and get your answer. There is only so much the director can do.
Much luck
