Hi, I started HHA/CNA training at the red cross on the 12 and i should be done by the 6th.. and hopefully my state test will be a week or two after that. I want to work in a hospital and i've been hearing a lot of talk about hospitals hiring CNA's and training them to be PCT's but im not sure if Boston hospitals do this also or if it takes place outside of Mass...

So are there any CNA's in the Massachusetts area who have been hired by a hospital and trained in house to be a PCT???? If so which hospital do you work at and do you like it?

P.s if they do train you is there a time period you have to wait before they do or can you just apply to the job and if they decide to hire you they start training of the bat?

A CNA and a PCT are the same thing. Hospitals just tend to refer to the title as PCT, PCA, or tech rather than CNA. Hospitals in Boston hire nursing assistants into many different types of units. The position requires a CNA certification or a semester or two of nursing school clinicals. If you are hired into a hospital position, they will train you on the job to draw blood, obtain EKGs, and other tasks that might not be relevant to a position in a nursing home.
