Hello
I am looking for some books on holistic nursing, that are not texts books. I am looking for a book to give my gf for a present. She is an RN and is starting to pursue holistic nursing. She has gone on a couple weekend long seminars for holistic nursing and to get her certificate. I am not too familiar with holistic nursing but I would like to get a present that has something to do with it since she seems really interested in the topic.
I have searched on good for books on holistic nursing but all I get are text books. I am hoping to find something more like a coffee table book I guess you would call it. Or if anyone else has any good ideas about gifts that have to do with holistic nursing. Any help would be much appreciated.
thank you!

You may have better luck picking a discipline that is included in holistic nursing. For example a herbal coffee table book or an aromatherapy book. You could find some good choices at herbalgram.org . A subscription to herbalgram would actually be a good gift.

Not about nursing, per se, but Nourishing Traditions is a good diet/cookbook. Focuses on traditional diet, very detailed yet easy to read.
I love Nourishing Traditions! There are great recipes in there. I started making a lot of the fermented food recipes as a food source of probiotics. They are super easy and so much more potent than the probiotics that you buy at the store.
I want to read "Fourfold Path to Healing" next. I just rediscovered it, and it seems even more applicable to nursing. As for probiotics.. this may be TMI, but I had severe constipation for as long as I can remember. I tried fiber, but it was weird. Probiotic pills helped, but raw milk really got me.. going. Almost too regular.. seems like I'm spending too much time in the bathroom given what I was used to!
