Help! Bedridden Bruise Assistance

Published

My mother-in-law was bedridden, diabetic with severe dementia and I was her caregiver. She favored laying on her right side. I turned her and propped her up with a pillow to try to keep pressure off (she was also on an alternating pressure mattress pad). One day, there was nothing but the next morning she had large bruising on her right side that extended to her breast. I was told that it was normal from lack of circulation. However, my husband insists there is no way that appeared in one day but I swear it did! Have any of you had any experiences like this or know more about how spontaneous these bruises can appear? Thank you so much in advance!
