Help!Any Pinoy nurses in Australia?

I just would like to ask our kababayans now working in Australia about the procedures on working there as a nurse. I have read some sites about these but i would like to hear from your personal experiences ( what are the first steps, requirements, how much money involved, etc...).

by the way, they require your WRITING to be 7. what you can do with that is to re apply again for another IELTS, and that means you have to take everything again.

Just want to ask, I read the Nursing Board of Tasmania regarding their requirements for Registration as a Nurse. It says there Overseas nurse applicants who are applying for migration should FIRST CONTACT the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council for an application form for assessment of their Nursing Qualification prior to Making application with this Board.

So that means, we first have to apply at the ANMC before applying to any state board in Australia.

In ANMC, I read that we have to have atleast 1 year work experience. So does this mean that a fresh graduate like me is not qualified to pass an application to the ANMC ?

You only need to contact ANMC if you would apply for General Skilled Immigration (136). ANMC is the government body that will assessed you in order to qualify for the points needed to pass the immigration.

You can contact the various State Nursing Body if you are planning to work under 457 Working Visa - Temporary Long Stay. This is in order for you to have a license and proceed working immediately.

Could I still get a Working Visa from any state board of Nursing even though I won't apply at ANMC ? If for example I have no plans on immigrating to Australia.

I really just want to work there because I could not leave my parents here.

Yes you dont have to apply to ANMC if you are not going to submit your General Skilled Migration application.

The International Section of the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council (ANMC) is an assessing authority for the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). The ANMC conducts an assessment of Registered Nurses and Midwives who intend to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category. The ANMC has been authorised by DIAC to undertake these assessments. Through this process the ANMC determines whether nurses and midwives are suitable for migration or whether they may need to undertake further education in order to be eligible for migration in the stated skill category.

1. nurses coming from the philippines needs to undergo bridging course to introduce them the australian way of nursing..you must have an experience as staff nurse for at least a yr as per immigration requirement..

Hi

I would just like to clear this up. Does Australia needs 1 year experience for you to be able to apply for thier bridging course? Or you can still apply for the bridging course even though you have no experience

(being here in the Philippines no job for a year, trying to look for a hiring hospital but they insist they're on freeze hiring... how could you get any experience here with flocks of nurses and no vacancies on hosps. sheesh!)

you need to have ATLEAST 1 year WORK experience before you could submit your application for eligibility to enroll in their bridging program which cost $12,000 AUD

Thank you for your reply. I read in some forums that evenr though you don't have any experience here, as long as you pass their Aus Assessment, you are eligible to apply for their bridging course and from what i heard in only cost around 7000AUS$. 12000AUS$ too much! haha! I'm starting to think again.

WOW! I am from june 07 batch as well! Now I dont feel so lost anymore thank god! I hope you can send me info's on how to start the whole process!! how Do I get the application?
