Help with an annoying classmate

Published

I feel quite petty for complaining, but one of my CNA - training classmates is driving me and several others batty.

When class started at 0700 today, she was not the last one to arrive, but still sat next to the instructor and jumped up to operate the VCR and television.

During instructional videos, she continually asked obvious questions (answers had been explained in video), and attempted to share "personal experience of performing (x) aspect of job" stories with the entire class.

Our practicum today was bed-making. Before and after being corrected several times about her mistakes in procedure, she sat around correcting others and giving feedback on what they did, and often gave erroneous corrections, etc. I really think that it's the instructor's place to correct us.

This sort of thing continued through more videos and while we practised taking vital signs on one another.

I can take correction very well, if the person correcting me is qualified to do so, but this sort of thing drives me bananas. Should I ask her to please stop doing this, or just grin maniacally and bear it? :trout:

one of my best friends is like that. she has never worked in the medical field or anything ( she can't even clean up her kids throw-up). she says things like that to make herself look better and smarter than anyone else to get attention. i usually just ignore her when she starts doing that and the instructor has always corrected her which embarrasses her to no end which is sweet revenge for me. i love her to death but she is just as annoying as the student you are dealing with. good luck with it.:chuckle
