Help.. Advice on studying Wilkinson Fundamentals

I am a new nursing student at Galen. The coursework is heavy and my first 2 tests I did terrible on... I am trying desperately to figure out a way to study this fundamentals book. This week I have begun with reviewing the chapter, then outlining the chapter with bold words or anything that appears relevant to me, then I go back and do all the knowledge checks, then I use the online study guide to check my answers, then I take a pertinent quizes on the online study guide until I know them 100%... this seems so time consuming. It took my more than 7 hours to do this with 1 chapter yesterday.... am I doing something wrong?? and better ways? Please I would love any feedback...
