I know this might sound strange but i am looking at applying to schools for an Accelerated nursing program in Georgia and I am a bit confused on where to start. The schools I am looking at are Valdosta State University, Kennesaw state University and Georgia state university. All these schools have their specific prerequisite and as of now I have 4 more prerequisite to complete because they are over 10 years old. I am also looking at starting in the summer or fall of 2019. Do I go ahead and apply for the programs even though I haven't completed the prerequisites or taken the HESI or TEAS test? I really do need someone to help me out. Thanks in advance.

Read the application directions on each of the program's websites. Are there courses or exams that are mandatory to complete before application? Or courses the are given extra weight in the application process? Make sure you have those done first.
Some programs (many) do allow some coursework to be in-progress at time of application - which specific classes and how many classes you may have in-progress at time of application will vary from program to program.
If you are in doubt after looking over their online program materials reach out to an admissions adviser at the school for clarification.

When I applied to my ABSN program, it had an April 1 application deadline and started in May. They allowed you to finish pre-reqs as long as they were completed before the start of ABSN classes. After my cohort, they changed it to "Must have all pre-reqs completed prior to application.

Hi there,
I am currently in an accelerated program. I also found the application process frustrating because every school had different requirements. Your best bet is to work with someone from admissions. I was able to negotiate some of my prerequisites like communication. You do not know until you ask. Some programs do require entrance exams. That is program specific. The programs should allow you to apply even if your prereqs are not complete. As long as you plan on completing them before the start of the program. I would recomend looking at tech schools for your prereqs and having an admission's person double check that you are on track. Best of luck to you. So pleased I started my accelerated program. Best desicion I have ever made.
