What is everyone's trick to passing A&P. My school does each course separately. Anatomy is one class and Physiology is separate. I do know I will be getting the anatomy coloring book I found on Amazon because who doesn't like to color? lol I got a D in Anatomy the first time I took this summer and I'm repeating it next semester. Any helpful tips would be awesome.

My best advice is to really grasp a concept before you even THINK about moving on to the next topic. I had both anatomy & physiology together in 2 courses (A&P I & II), but the physiology is the most important part (in my opinion). With that being said, its so important to really understand each topic before tackling an entire chapter.

You are like me! I didn't pass my summer session of A & P. It was just too short of a time period, and I was taking chemistry... ugh, awful. I can't wait until this semester finishes so my grade can be replaced and my GPA can go up! Anyways, I am taking A & P 1 again now and it is much better. It is all coming together for me. I go to Open Lab & Supplemental Instruction a lot (I will be there tomorrow morning from 9 am to 12 pm). If your school offers this, I highly recommend it. They have microscopes and models of bones/muscles that I can study from. I also study a little bit at a time, which is the luxury of 16 week classes as opposed to 8 week... I can take my time. I also found a great professor using ratemyprofessor. She is NOT easier whatsoever, but is able to convey the material better. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I hate a&p! More so anatomy tho. My college did the same anatomy then physiology. All that stuff they tell u,"read the book before class, review when u get home and study until the test n not cram" this is your holy grail! Don't procrastinate. They say how students gets a's is by studying the ch. 1, next class topic ch.2, study ch.1 then ch.2, next class topic ch. 3 study for ch.1 2 and 3. N so on. This goes for any subject. ESP. A&p. If u keep this up it'll b stored in your long term memory for that final exam!

Hi there! My suggestion for A&P (and any other class in general) is to get out of the "What do I have to do to pass this class?" mentality. The point of the class is to teach you things you need to know. Passing is nice, but it does you no good if you don't actually learn the material. Plenty of people "pass" classes but don't learn a darned thing. You would feel better if you got a B or an A than if you just barely squeaked by, right? So try to actually learn and apply the material, instead of just trying to pass.
-I would study according to structure and function. Think about what a body part is made of and how that helps it do what it does. Example: Microvilli in the GI increase surface area. Why: So that more nutrients can be absorbed.
-khanacademy.org is very useful for understanding physiology. Youtube is helpful, too.
-Maybe try to learn word roots. A medical dictionary might help.
-Form a study group with a friend. It helps some people but I prefer studying alone.
Good luck!
