It can seem overwhelming!, its good that you realize that now you have an opportunity to make things right, my advice:flamesonb
1. Study material, system by system, learn and understand the diseases of each system and the common drugs that are given for them. Ex:
System- cardiac
Diseases- HTN, CHF, MI
Drugs- Anti-hypertensives
2. Study slow and pace yourself, go-over anything that seems unclear to you.
3. Some books give info on each disease etc... and then give review questions after each reading, that may help!
4. A review class is always good, u can ask questions and recieve feedback on what your doing wrong.
5. SOOOOO important!- Restate every question you read in a simpler way so that you understand exactly what the question is asking you- this is usually where most people go wrong( they don't understand what the ques is really asking).
Wishing You Best Of Luck!

Hi! Just stumbled into this site this evening while searching for information on nclex review courses. I graduated with an ASN and worked for a while on a med/surg unit. I was rushed to test by this unit and along with all the other stressors in my life, I failed. Now the stressors in my life have quadrupled and I'm feeling stuck! I can't return to work until I pass the boards and obtain a license. I've tried Kaplan. I think it helped some, but I'm just not confident enough! I'm overwhelmed by the review material! I don't quite know how to approach it! Any suggestions? Any good study tips? Or can anybody recommend other review courses/guides?
