My name is Vikki, and I live here in St. Louis. I just finished my 1st semester at Deaconess College of Nursing. So far so good, I guess. I was overwhelmed with the course work, but still somehow managed to come out with 2 A's and 2 B's. I call it beginner's luck I start the fall semester next Monday, and it looks to be more challenging than before. So, if any of you are available to assist me, please don't hesitate. I need all the help I can get. I look forward to meeting all of you, and good luck to us all as we make our journey to nursehood.

peace

My name is Jaime Cook, I am currently working in Springfield, MO at >700 bed hospital. My area of specialty is Neuro-Trauma ICU. I am working on my Master's degree as an FNP and doing my thesis on patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries and the use of Barbituate Coma's. I would love to hear from others who use this technique with TBI's. I am also looking for some great practical experience for my upcoming rotations. If you are a FNP, MD, or PA and are willing to have a student, let me know.

Hi, all. I live in Chicago but was born in KC. I've always considered myself a KC girl even though my family moved to Illinois when I was 8 years old. I lived by the Blue Ridge Mall. I went back to visit last summer with my dad and hubby and showed him the house we lived in. When did they get rid of the pool at Cool Crest? That made me kinda sad to see it's gone.

My husband is a Bears fan but in my family we're still Chief and Royals fans!!

Hello Everyone,

I am a former Kansas City, MO resident ~ just wanted to say hi. I worked for a short time at St. Lukes (northland location) and then for a couple years at North Kansas City Hospital before my husband's company changed his job location. Some good memories there and I miss my friends.

Take care ~ Gayle

Hi Gayle,

I am an RN in the KC area. I am interviewing at North KC Hospital next week. I have been employed for several years at a one of the "Health Midwest" hospitals that has now been bought by HCA.

Which unit(s) did you work at NKC? I know it has an excellent reputation and I hear the working conditions are good.

If I get hired, maybe I will meet some of your friends ! Jean

Hello everyone! I live in swmo and I am LPN working at a mental healthcare facility. Quite a change from med/surg but loving it! I Look forward to getting to know ya'll.

Hello, my name is Melissa and I am starting nursing school in January at Lutheran Medical School of Nursing. I currently work as a CNA for Bethesda Healthcare

Hi Deedee,

I am new to Warrensburg, and graduated USD in December. Because of my husbands job, I could not start working right away because we were moving from SD to MO. Now that the kiddos are in school I am trying to find my first job as a RN. What do you suggest? I have filled out numerous applications to the hospital here in Warrensburg, but with out experience in the medical field, and not working for 12 years because I stayed at home with my 3 children, I think no one is willing to hire me. I am willing to work anywhere and at any time just to get experience. Any advise?
