I have been working on a paper for school about healthcare and the election in November. It made me curious as to what other nurses and nursing students thought about the candidate's healthcare issues. Let me know what you think - I would love to hear other people's opinions on this issue! :)

I am interested in univeral healthcare. One of my coworkers claims that extreme measures will no longer be taken with patients, such as in the ICU. She says there won't be money for that - patients won't receive the care and nurses will lose jobs. I personally don't think we will go backwards in our medical advances - America would not let that happen. But interesting to think about.

I don't think it matters anymore what either candidate wants, after this massive bailout of the financial system. We won't have the money. And even when we do, I am not in favor of my children being taxed through the roof to support the glorified hotel customer service mess that is health care today. Let's get some sense and do for everyone what needs to be done for health, not for complete satisfaction with their health care experience.
