Healthy non-smoker used to be a good recipe for low cost private insurance, but not anymore. I don't think you will be able to get ACA compliant insurance for less than $300 and probably not less than $600. If you want to cheap out, just find agencies that offer health insurance. It will likely be a crappy plan, but will have some value and keep you legal.
I have United's Bronze HSA100 and it's about $228 (going up to 240 next year) a month. It's pretty much catastrophic insurance but I guess that's how much it costs nowadays! I'm 32 and healthy. My home is in MO and traveling in CA and this plan covers physicians in most states I think. I had to call a few insurance companies (after searching for plans in MO on einsurance) and an agent, and it seemed like most plans are only covered in your home state. It took a couple of days but finally figured it out in the end!

I've been a travel nurse for 3 years now and have always carried my own individual health insurance. Unfortunately, my plan is being cancelled at the end of the year. I'm a single, non smoker, healthy, 30 year old female. My permanent home is Colorado, but I want a PPO for traveling purposes. Any suggestions besides Cobra? I've been comparing plans online and of course don't want to pay too much, hopefully less than $300/month. Tell me what's been working for some of you.
