HCC Coleman Spring 2021

Hi I was trying to see whose all applying to HCC for Spring 2021. I couldn't apply for fall because I needed Micro.

Yes please share. I’m re-applying for next fall as well

I will be applying next semester if I do not get in. Also, You are allowed to take pharmacology before being starting the program.  I took it this semester and I would advise anyone who is considering applying to take it before you enter the program.   It requires a lot of studying of all medications.  Some of the students that are in the program now took the class and mentioned that they wished they had taken it before entering the program.  It is good to focus on this class alone.

I’m trying to take that in January, but can’t register with out a permission code. The nursing Dept says it should open to register with out a code, up hopefully before Winter break.

I got a 3.5 flat pre-req GPA, 94 overall HESI, 980/1000 critical thinking and took all co-requisites. If you do not retain information I would advise you not to take pharmacology way ahead of time. There’s a difference between taking it to pass and taking it to apply it into the nursing program. You can score good by taking it early but can possibly not retain any of the information and won’t be able to apply it in nursing school which is worse. They put it in the program so you can learn and apply it all together.

 

also it doesn’t matter greatly on what grades you pass nursing school with, all it matters is that you pass from a accredited school and pass the NCLEX. You don’t need straight A’s in nursing school

 I made a B in A&P 1 and Microbiology. My HESI is 92.8%. should I retake these classes?

If you have time to retake it then yes. The next application period is for Fall 2021. If there is always room for improvement you should take it....
