Hca work edmonton

Published

Hello.

I just completed my first year of the practical nurse program and I'm trying to find HCA work. I've applied to several different places and have had only one interview.

Really all im wanting is a casual position for the summer,

Its been two two weeks of applying, so I'm wondering if IT usually takes a long time to be considered for a position or if there are a lack of hca jobs right now as well?

Please give me me your input or maybe a suggestion as to where I should apply.

Two words: hiring freeze. If you are applying to places funded by AHS, the freeze is on.

have you been applying for posted positions or just cold calling? Posted positions are only looked at after the closing date, internal applicants looked at and then if none suitable, your application. It can take anywhere from two - six weeks.

Have you tried the private agencies, WeCare, etc?

I actually worked for "we care" a year ago. Bad news. One client at 6:30 am. For a half hour.

i asked and asked for more clients but they wouldn't give me any.

After a month of waking up at 5:30 for one client I gave up.

I also tried classic life care and had a similar scenario.

I would really just rather work in a facility. Home care just isn't for me.

But its good to know that it usually takes that long to process.

I am sending out a fair bit of general applications for casual work... But for some places Im trying for the positions they have posted.
