HBU Spring 2016

Anyone applying to HBU BSN Nursing program for Spring 2016?

Thank you for letting me know! And I have my fingers crossed! They haven't sent out the alternate list yet.

As an HBU Nursing graduate, here's my piece of advice:

  1. Stick together as a cohort (colleagues). Trust me on this, you cannot do nursing school alone. Been there, tried that, DOESN'T WORK.
  2. Never upset the professors. If you have any discrepancies, respectfully and professionally bring it to their attention by meeting privately in their office or e-mailing them. No one likes the student who is always guns blazin'!
  3. Share helpful information with your cohort. You guys should be in this together! Don't entertain the toxic "frenemies" and stick around to those who actually care about one another.
  4. Did I mention...STICK TOGETHER?

Nursing knowledge is not the most challenging portion of the nursing school experience, it is the comprehensive expectations of the entire program. You must balance your class schedule, clinical rotations, clinical paperwork, assignments, check-off practice, studying for exams, and your personal life proficiently in order to stay afloat. If you find a time of weakness, this is where having a buddy/colleague(s) becomes helpful. Sharing information, studying, carpooling, and practicing together is what enhances the experiences and makes the rigorous program bearable. It's JUST nursing school, after all. ;)
