Hello there! Anyone applying to UHM Nursing Program for Spring '15 admission? Just wondering if you'd be interested in sharing your stats. I'll be submitting my application soon and am really curious if I have a chance...

pgpa:3.7

cgpa: 3.35

NLN:

composite score: 127

composite percentile: 89%

Pgpa: 3.7

Cgpa: 3.3

NLN: 71, 97, 81

Wow are stats are very similar! What did your composite score come out to? Do you know how they calculate the points for admittance into the nursing program? I asked the pre nursing advisor but he didn't really explain how points are calculated, all he said was that they look at your pgpa, cgpa, and test results. He also mentioned that it doesn't matter what percentage you rank on the NLN....

My composite score came out to 131, but they only look at the scores in the "relative performance" column. The advisor didn't explain to me how the points are calculated either :/ however, I heard that they look at the highest score in that column and ignore the other 2, so if you scored somewhere in the 90's, you might have a good shot, depending on your gpa and the other applicants. Just curious, what did you get for your individual scores? Haha~

My individual scores were: 71,76,88. I also heard that they look at the highest score of the three categories but I asked the advisor about that too and he said that's incorrect. He said they looked at ALL the scores. It seems as if its some big secret as to how they calculate the points because no one has been able to answer that question lol. And when I ask the advisor, he doesn't explain anything in detail, its just short simple answers like "no that's wrong" Wish they had a clear cut way for students to understand how it is that students are accepted. Did you also apply to KCC?

Haha yeah no one really knows how they look at the scores except the ones looking at our application... No I didn't apply, I heard KCC is harder to get into and I go to Manoa already. Its so hard to wait until November for our results!!

Yeah, I didnt either...so Im crossing my fingers that I get into UH. Have you taken your pharmacology and statistics courses yet? I'm taking mine this fall at KCC. Do u have a plan b in case you dont get in?

I took stats already, but not pharm~ and no I don't have a plan b, sadly lol I've been looking into other majors though. Do you have a plan b?

Sorry it took so long to reply! If I dont get into UH then Im going to spend the extra money and go to HPU. I dont have time to waste to try and apply again and again. Hopefully I wont have to resort to that!

My friend just got a letter saying they're not admitting a spring 2015 class. No details as to why.

I just checked the mail, and I also received this letter. I dont understand why they are only telling us this now. They must have known this was going to happen. This is bs!
