UH Manoa GEPN Cohort 2017

U.S.A. Hawaii

Published

I know I'm extremely early for this discussion but I'm considering on applying for the UH Manoa GEPN program for Fall 2017 (applications submission starts Sept 2016).

Anyone out there considering on applying next year also? If so what educational background/field of work are you coming from?

for existing mepn/gepn student section, do you have any advice for future applicants?

Yes, an essay is required. I just need to turn in my essay but making sure it is perfect before I send it in!

momimahalo, over the summer time I took the required pre-requisite research course, SOC 300 with Quincy Edwards. His class is offered as an online course which made it easier to finish. Just an option to throw out there. It is however quite expensive, but I have come to the conclusion that this whole program will be fairly pricey.

What track has everyone applied ? I applied for the APHN track

Just submitted my application. Good luck everyone!

I also applied to the APHN track! Hopefully we both get accepted!

Submitted my application on 10/16! I applied for the FNP track. Ahh exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time.

Specializes in PCU.

Scared / excited... UH's nursing page says that people are going to start find out about acceptances in November...

Hi all!

I got my acceptance letter yesterday via email for the GEPN/ DNP-Family NP track. So excited!

Grant

Hi Grant,

Congrats on your acceptance! I was wondering when you submitted your application? Im anxiously doing the waiting game. Lol.

I forget when the application Opened, but It was about a week after the application opened. I think in Mid September?

Has anyone been accepted? I heard rumors that they are closing the program.

Wow, really? I was rejected in early November. I asked why, and they said I was not a competitive enough applicant. They didn't specifically say what about my application wasn't competitive. Hopefully I get into some mainland schools. Good luck everyone!
