Hello,
I am a fairly new LPN graduate, and have been studying for my NCLEX for a year now. When I do nclex tests online, I usually get passing scores on them. I have practiced from the Saunders NCLEX books, the examcram NCLEX book, and have borrowed the Kaplan NCLEX strategy guide from the library multiple times. I know the strategies, and have used them to take multiple NCLEX practice tests, which I do really well on. But I am a visual thinker, and have to picture the question before I use my plan of attack in order to understand it.
Monday was my second try on my NCLEX, and the results just said I failed again. With the first test, I failed with 200 questions, and the second with 204. Obviously I'm walking a line with this test, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten that far in in the first place. And it isn't math questions, which I happen to be a whiz at, because I've only gotten 3 questions in total.
What do I seem to be doing wrong here? In clinicals, I was the top student, and on practice tests I do pretty well. I'm looking at taking a refresher course, but not Kaplan, as their so expensive and their guarantee wouldn't matter anyway since I've already taken the NCLEX.
The only other thing is our program closed after our class, and I feel like we weren't as prepared as we could've been.
What I'm asking for are other sources of study for those that imagine the senario, as well as thoughts on other review courses, and help to get me passing the nclex.
Thanks for your input!!!

I know you don't want to use Kaplan but it is truly one of the best out there. Besides that I took the hurst review which I honestly did not like. In my opinion Kaplan is well worth it!
