Does anyone know if I really need to work in healthcare before graduating. I have my CNA license but I have two small children so Im not working but I know people say that you should work to gain experience. Or be a nurse tech to gain experience. Do I really really need to work in the healthcare field before I graduate. I feel like if I dont as soon as I get my RN license I will feel so lost. Any tips?
Working as a Tech really helped me a lot. But, like others said here, if it's not right for you then don't do it. If it stesses you to the point that you can't enjoy family life I would say don't do it. You'll have plenty of time to learn after graduation. Good luck. Go with what your heart tells you to do . You'll enjoy your nursing career much better if you learn to go by your heart rather than listening to others.

I wasnt going to at first then decided to and I am so glad I did. I am leaps and bounds ahead of my classmates with time manamgement and hands on skills as well as patient and family interaction. Even if it is per diem, you should do it!!
