i am new to l&d , and i work in the dallas area, however i am thinking about applying for a job at parkland hospital. i do not know anyone who works there, but i have heard a couple of negative things about nursing at parkland. i need to know if there are any nurses out there who can say "yeah" or " neah" about working at parkland ,specifically l&d. i've heard something about "group nursing"? what is this and how does work exactly? what is the typical patient load like? pay? do all l&d nurses train to obtriage?

Specializes in Operating Room.

My aunt worked at Parkland for many years. I know she used to work for an OB, so she may have worked on the OB/L&D floor at Parkland at the beginning.

She's retired now, but I never heard her say anything bad about Parkland.

I've always heard, if you can work there, you can get experience in everything!

Good luck. :)
