Have anyone applied for CSULB MSN Fall 2010? Have you heard anything?

Published

Hello,

I've applied for the CSULB FNP Fall 2010 program and spoke to Allison, graduate coordinator who said applicants might not be notified until as late as mid-April. Does anyone knows of anything else? Do applicants have interviews? I heard that EL-MSN applicants might.

Thank you.

Hi.

I finally received the formal acceptance letter last Tuesday. I've been so busy with work that I forgot to update this forum. Sorry. I plan to take pathophysiology and assessment first. How about you?

Sorry, richo, I couldn't reply to your mail. I'll try again.

Another way you can check your status is by calling the automated line at 562-985-2500, press number #2, #3, and #2 to enter you SS#. Then your pin and #2 for graduate admission. It will say Congratulation, you've been offered.... or "your application is under the department review". Good luck!

Hi there..yes i also received the formal acceptance letter i think 2 weeks ago..Im thinking of taking pathophysiology as well..i dont know about physical assessment..congrats to us:yeah:

The acceptance letter mentions about Writing Proficiency requiment.

Anyone have information about it?

Do we have to take a writing test?

Thanks a lot

BTW, I plan to take Patho and Diversity.

I read through this thread. Just to make sure, they approved all NP programs for Spring 2011, right?

PREREQUISITE COURSES:

The following prerequisite course must be successfully completed by all MSN options:

Statistics (college level course)

All of the NP and CNS option candidates must have the following prerequisite courses:

Pathophysiology – college level or graduate level course Physical Assessment with a clinical component -- taken within the last five years.

Community Health Nursing course with clinical experience -- for applicants who have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree. Requirement fulfilled by the public/health community nursing course and laboratory course in a nursing baccalaureate program.

Additional requirements for specific programs:

Family, Pediatric and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Programs

A course in Growth and Development

I'm a future applicant so I apologize if this is a dumb question, but these "prerequisites" have to be done BEFORE we apply to their MSN program or are these courses that we have to take first, once we are accepted before we take our nursing course?

heyyy alll

To those of you who got accepted into the FNP program what were your stats? (if you dont mind me asking)

I dont have all the prereqs done but I was told that you could take them once you start the program and it shouldnt be a problem.

I just want to get a general idea if i even have a shot at this program and would love any feedback from anyone who is currently applying or who has gotten accepted!

Thanks!
