Has any one felt like quiting

I am in my first semester of the nursing program. I am so overwhelmed I can't explain it, I just look into my sons big brown eyes & he is what gets me through it.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel & it will be all worth it :heartbeat

My best friend through 1 and 1/2 years went into the office of the level II coordinator yesterday and asked to quit because she was so upset over the medical clinical rotation. Luckily, she was told she would not be allowed to quit. She has put in so much time and effort and to let one rotation steal her confidence would be a travesty. She is going to be a wonderful nurse one day. The teacher told her that she needs to put this into perspective. She only has two weeks to go and really that is only four more clinical days. She can gut it out. I understand the frustration and I did find the medical rotation to be difficult and there are so many times when I felt like giving up, but think of all the time and money you put into the program so far. That isn't even considering the time you put into prerequisites to get into the program. Then you have to consider how much competition you had to beat out just to get a prized spot. I would just say please don't give up. You have it in you to make it through this. We all are pulling for you. Big hug.

I hate the floor I'm on!

I hate my clinical instructor!

I hate my fellow students (most)!

I hate bedpans!

I hate the heat!

I hate isolation and all the little germs you can catch!

But I'm not giving up.................. It takes an hour to get home and by that time I've had a good cry, with the window down in below zero temps, have called my best friend who just listens and I mark another day off the clinical calendar! When I'm thru with this, I can choose where I work. (And I really am getting very good with bedpans!) SO HANG IN THERE!
