I just interviewed was offered and accepted a floor position at our local Beverly owned LTC. They are the prototype for OH for resident centered care. It sounds really awesome. The pay and benifits are good. On the tour the residents seemed clean and happy up and about for the most part. Everything appeared tidy and I didn't smell any foul odors. The employees seemed relaxed and friendly enough. My friend has worked there for 7 months now and she is very happy. I am just a bit concerned because Beverly has such a bad reputation. Does anyone know if they have made good changes of late? Or if certain individual homes are better than others or is it the bad reputation wide spread? Just wondering about everyones oppinions.

In my opinion I will live in Arkansas close to Branson missouri. And I know the beverlys here have a horrible reputation. I have been in LTC for 7 years now. I have been in the faculities and they are dirty and disorganized. Now I really don't know much about other areas. So do some checking. And good luck

I worked 10+ years in a Beverly in Virginia and that facility has an excellent reputation.
In fact of the 5 LT facilities in our area they are the best of the bunch. I was also on the "other side" so to speak with family members admitted to this facility and could not have asked for better care. I can't speak for all Beverly facilities but other than a few minor things this was the best nursing job I had ever had. In fact I am considering going back to work there.
Thank you for your input. So far this one looks to be a good one but I guess you can really never truly know until you work there awhile. I know I for one will do my best and if I can not do my best and work ethically well there is a nursing shortage so I will move on. Thanks again. Guess I just needed to know that they are not all bad.
