i know this isn't going to be much help. but my grandmother (yess grandmother) many years ago was a nurse there and she loved it. it was in the 1945. my mother was young and she went with her , she said it was beautiful !! my mother said it was right after the war they just returned from pearl harbor.
I didn't do anything special, but since I have been a few summers. I take plenty of reading materials, stamps, envelopes, snacks, and I ALWAYS take bug spray. I'm not talking OFF, I mean RAID. Usually the nurses station is closed up all winter. A room soon as I arrive, I go in and spray my room down, i probaly use half a can. I then go back a few hours later and clean it. That way I can rest easy, I don't like creepy crawlers and there's usually some hiding in the crevices. Just be open minded and have fun!
Okie dokie! Thank you for the good recommendations, especially the RAID! I'm excited and nervous at the same time! I will definitely be spraying my room down as soon as I get in. There's nothing more annoying than creepy crawlers, especially when I'm trying to get a good nights rest!
Woohoo, can't wait!

I am considering taking a summer job for The Fresh Air camp for the summer in New York, has anyone worked there. Please share if you have.
