Has anyone taken the RN NCLEX after 5+ yrs?

Published

I am scared to death. I took the RN NCLEX 3 times right after graduation and did not pass. I know in my heart I need to take them again because the only thing between me and my RN is that ONE TEST. After failing it 3 times I just gave up, got married and had 3 kids. I am a stay at home mom now and need to just get it done. Are there any of you out there that have waited so many years before taking it again? Or do you know someone and what was the outcome? Please be honest. How did you prepare?

Thanks so much!!!!

We have had several members lately post that they had qualified several years ago and was either taking the exam or just passed it. With good preparation and plenty of practising questions I am sure you will get through it

Good luck

Not 5 years, but I graduated in January of 2007, took it twice later that year and once earlier this year. So I waited about a year and a half between my 2nd and 3rd time. My 4th time is coming up on Tuesday and I have been studying hard, praying, and just having the confidence that I WILL pass this time. You will pass too, once you become focused and study everyday, you will be able to do it. It's not impossible, you can do it, believe in yourself. Once you feel like you are ready to take it again, send in your application and schedule your test date. I wish you good luck and let us know how it goes!
