Has any one taken a music class as a pre-req for a BSN degree? Does any one think that this will be a easy class to get an A out of. I attend Maryville University in St.louis and this class will meet weekly for 7 weeks and is worth 2 credits, the teacher will grade us on the average of 3 exams.

Can you maybe get a copy of the syllabus to check it out? I started out as a music major so the music classes were easy for me, but I thought the classes for nonmajors (humanities credits) would be rather difficult for someone with no experience in music because of all the vocab and concepts. If it's just music appreciation where you attend some concerts and write some papers it should be easy but then it also depends on the instructor. Probably your best bet is to ask someone at your school.

I will be taking Music Appreciation starting October 21st. I think it's an 8-week online class. I'm taking it as my humanities elective for my future RN-BSN.
I will have to attend at least one concert & write a paper on it, and write some type of poem, plus tests, etc.
My instructor allows for extra concerts/papers to be completed for extra credit, up to 3, I think. However, only 1 can be "regular" music. lol
As for the question of an easy A....I'm sure it is an easy A for some, but some people fail easy A classes. Everyone is different.
I'm hoping it ends up being another A class for me! :)
Good luck!!

I"ve heard the music courses (even some of the enjoyment of music courses) are really hard for people who have no backround in music. Cause some of them do jump into music theory, which can get really confusing if it's something you aren't familiar with.
I appreciate the comments everyone have made on this subject. I will just
take the class and try to learn enough info to get a good grade. I have looked at the syllabi and there are no papers to write, nor are there any concerts to attend, unless this information is not listed in the syllabi, also as I stated before the instructor will grade you on the average of three tests, so that does not sound to bad to only have 3 tests in a seven week course. :)
