I am an LVN I want to pursue my RN. City Colleges have 2-3 year waiting list here in California.

Have any of you GREAT! RN's heard of the College Network Online Course for RN? or Do you know of someone who has been through this course. I would like some feed back if possible. At this point in my career I really dont have too many options. Thanks for your feed back.

There are a bunch of threads here about TCN (The College Network). You can use the "search" feature in the upper right hand corner of the screen to find them -- please take the time to review them before making a decision.

TCN is a publishing company, nothing more (certainly not a school), that publishes study materials to help people complete the distance ed programs through Excelsior College or ISU. It is an unnecessary and expensive "middleman" who will charge you a lot of money to help you get through a program you can complete without their help. Also, you have to sign a contract up front for their entire set of "modules" for the entire RN program -- if you decide later that you're unhappy with the materials, simply decide that you don't need their materials, or some personal crisis changes your plans about completing the program, you will not be able to get out of the contract, and you will still owe them thousands of dollars.

If you really want the TCN study materials, people here report that you can buy them used on ebay for a fraction of the original price.

Please look over the threads here about others' experiences with and opinions of TCN before making a decision and signing a contract.

(Also, are you aware that there are issues with getting licensed in CA if you get your nursing training through Excelsior College? I don't want to say more than that, because I'm not sure of exactly what the status of EC grads is in CA these days -- but I believe it's safe to say you'll want to look further into that before enrolling in EC's program. :) )

Best wishes!
