Has anyone heard of the BC called Centchroman?

Published

It's a non-hormonal BC pill developed in India that is getting a lot of attention lately. I wondered if any OB/GYN nurses have heard of it. It's not approved by the FDA,and it supposedly does not have the negative side effects that hormonal birth control pills do. I found a message board and quite a few women have started taking it there and really like it. A few have been on it for 3 years.

Yes, I've heard of this method of contraception.

It does not prevent ovulation.

It prevents the already fertilized ovum from implantation.

have you heard of it at your job or on your own? if it is at your job, what do other nurses or the medical community think of it?
