I am an LPN and have am wanting to start to work on my RN through excelsior college online. Is there anything bad I should know about it before I start getting into this? I couldn't find anything bad on the web about them, but just wondering before I started. Thanks!

hi there! i'm a graduate of excelsior college who lives in fl. the school itself is ok. i did not have any problems with it within the 2 years i took the course to be an rn, except for the waiting part on the practical exam (cpne) coz it takes a few months to get scheduled... and of course, it is a bit pricey:twocents:! after the nclex out of state (since currently the fl board of nursing does not accept excelsior graduates) the only major problem is getting endorsed to be able to work here in fl . they changed some rules in nursing endorsement after i graduate that's why i'm having difficulty right now. i have no nursing experience and an online nursing graduate that's why i was advised to take another state's nclex. but if you're an lpn with experience then they would probably let you sit for the fl nclex in the future then you'd have no problems with endorsement. good luck with your studies! let me know if you need any other info.

florida does accept excelsior graduates to sit for their boards.....as long as you are an lpn.

Not a Floridian, but I am about to become an RN via Excelsior. I love it. Be forewarned, though, you MUST be extremely self-motivated. There are no deadlines except that you need to complete it in 7 years. It is all up to you.
Thank you all so much! I look forward to starting it!
