Hello everyone, this is my first post to allnurses.com. I just recently graduated with my bachelor's degree in registered nursing in March 2013 and got my license in June and have been applying to every job available under the sun for the past month and a half with nothing but rejection after rejection. Despite that I just got a phone call from Sutter Delta's RN Internship Program and my interview is scheduled for August 14th, 2013. They told me that the first interview is five minutes and within that five minutes I need to be able to wow the panel. What I want to know is if anyone has experienced that interview. Is the interview focused on more personality driven questions and what you would do if you had a conflict with co-workers, managers, and the sort or is it mainly technical questions? For example, If a patient is suffering from a narcotics overdose what would you give to treat them? I just want to know about the first interview, the five minutes, because I am sure after the first interview the second interview will most likely consist of technical questions. Please, those that have experienced this interview please reply. Even if you know someone who went through it and you know their experience, please reply to this topic.
I was very shock to receive a call back for a second interview for next Monday...now I don't know what to expect for this next interview...if I remember correctly the sheet they had us read said their would be a peer review can anyone remember? Did anyone else get a call back?
Congrats! What department did you apply to?
I remember seeing peer interview, I think.

2nd interview tomorrow! That first interview was SO unexpected. Definitely wasn't prepared.
Veovus79: you must have been right before me. I was 1:45. Would have thought they would have spread them out a little bit.
I talked to the security guard on my way out. He said there must have been 80 interviews that day & that was before 2pm! From the call I got for the second interview I don't get the impression there were very many scheduled. Fingers crossed!
confused06: good luck with your interview! Maybe we'll get to work together! :)

How did it go??
canurse4: It went well. The second interview was much more relaxed. I won't be able to take part in the program though because I've been hired into a paid full-time nurse residency program where you don't have to reapply after completion of the term!
confused06: I have my fingers crossed for you!
