I am an LPN with 14 years clinical and management experence. I am considering studying to work as a clinical reviewer for this company as it states you can work from home. Anyone have experience with this company? The website claims you get 4 weeks vaca, benefits and a 401K. I also read after training and reaching quota, you can make up to 30 an hour....... Is there a catch????

You may want to SERIOUSLY reconsider this! No, it's misleading. $30 hour is not true. They avoid telling you all of this until your through with training that it's "Per case"
If you do too many cases, they penalize your pay. They also make you deny a minimum of 20% of cases to meet their quota. They use "quality control" to keep the insurance providers happy. Trying to get time off is liking getting congress to pass a bill. VERY VERY misleading. You've been warned.

I have worked as a nurse for CareCore for over two years and it is been nothing but a positive experience for me. You do get paid by the case after you have been trained, which is an extensive three weeks of training. After ninety days you are paid per case. LPNs are paid the same as RNs and called Clinical Reviewers. As long as you are proficient on the computer you can easily make over twenty dollars an hour. I generally make around 27.00 per hour which is very good for the area. The comments above are untrue. If you ask for time in advance you are likely to get it. Cases are NEVER denied to keep insurance companies happy but based soley off of medical necessity. I often offer a study that is more expensive because it is what is best for the patient. I have learned a lot from this job. My background is in the ER. You do not need to have case management experience but it does help. The training and supervisors have been very helpful. It is a great group to work with. I encourage you to look into it. Best of luck in your job hunt.

I have a question about the company?
Do they pay you for the 3 weeks while in training? How often is the training offered, how many nurses were in your training class?
thanks in advance!!!!

"ManyThanks" to all of you who have provided your objective feedback on Care Core. I "was" considering signing on with this firm back in November 2011. FYI: There were other unfavorable reviews on other sites as well.

everything you say here , bluestarmom is true. i would seriously reconsider working there. if you like time off with your family and ability to make a decent living. up front, they give you "pto time" but you will have a difficult time actually taking it.
they also tell you about how much money you will make at per case rate but as you work the calls ; they are slow and barely able to make their case rate per day.

Thanks for the info folks! I just about got sucked in myself. The intereviewer got a little uncomfortable when I asked a lot of questions. As for the pay. CharlotteRN is sadly mistaken and walking around with blinders on. She can go to any hospital and make a whole lot more than $20/hr in the NC area. Besides the state of NC has been known to not pay that great and they pay more than that! And the benefits are terrific, I know I used to work for them! I guess that chick at CareCore wasn't counting on this nurse on doing her homework. I once had a friend in NM who worked for them or a similar type company and she had a similar experience to some of what read about and when she sent the equipment back, they tried to say she damaged it or never recieved it and tried to take her last paycheck. She was smart and kept receipts and video records, she had a gut feeling they would try to pull something shady on her like that, sued them and won.

I guess the unsavory practices are still in place as of March 2014!! They are a bit nasty on the phone interview and if they turn you down once, you can be sure applying again is a huge waste of time.
Another place I would HIGHLY warn nurses NOT to work is Sedgwick CMS--exact scenarios match core national but Sedgwick nursing management is made up of the most villians known to man!! Stay away if you do not want disability or wc claim as u will never ever get it........

Updated on carecore...they now pay by the hr...and that is around 25 to 30/hr. Which some complain about because they say the hard workers earned more money when getting paid by the case. O well! Can't please em all! These changes may be because they combined with another company and r now called evicore
