I am thinking about doing an LVN program so I can have a job that pays better than 10$ while I go to college to do an RN program....

ANYWAYS, anyone heard of bethesda university of california? They offer an LVN program in orange county for around 19,500$ (most are around 30,000$)

They "gaurantee" a job after completion of the program! However...they have low pass rates but they test everyone and dont "weed" out people like most programs...

I'm going there right now. Currently in the pre-nursing class. The actual nursing class is expected to start in the next two weeks they need 2 more sign ups before they can start the program. So far I'm learning a lot. I just hate having to wait for more people to sign up. Hopefully we get just 2 more people so we can start this month. So if you're thinking about it stop by the office maybe with 1 more sign up they will start ASAP!!!

I would love it if you kept me updated! Glad you like the intro class but I really want to find someone who is in the middle of the program so let me know if you are able to start it. Are you full time or part time? (not sure if i can hadle one year of not have any free time w/ a 40hour program and nonstop studying!)

I cant start an LVN program until Jan., I am taking 5 classes at the local J.C. and it is too late to drop them...

Everyone I have talked to about the program is VERY nice and sweet but...VERY unknowledgeable about who what where when why and I have to ask a million questions to get one answer....

it scares me that the past three years this school have only tested 8 or so students but has had enrolled like 80ppl but the Dean said that all of the students moved away when they moved the program from another school

The only major good thing about this school is the job guarantee and the 5% fail rate. However, when I asked the Dean about the job after you are a grad he said "....I was thinking about taking that down, but I have lots of connections and friends" I want to go this school, but know how many of the LVN programs are bad and run like a bussiness with poor teachers! I guess I could just have a Lawyer get the BU's website advertisement of the Job Guarantee notarized so if there was a "I never said that/ was not on the wed site" I could take legal action..(not trying to be mean but realistic!)

I love the school just 20,000$ is alot of cash to be waisted if its not legit!

please please please keep me updated!

Reply to this post in a few months so I can get the email and I'll let you know how it is going!

OK, I will! thank you so such!!

Hope they get another student so you can start!! (i was told that there was like 20 something people enrolled)

Best of luck!!!!:redbeathe

I'm also enrolled for the class that is starting in a couple of weeks. I also have been wanting to hear from students that are already deep in their program. The tuition is awesome considering other schools want to charge you 30k+ just to get your lvn, but there are some unprofessional staff members and holes in their promises. I was told class would start sep 12; needless to say, it didn't. Start date is now planned for oct 17. I don't think they have 20 people enrolled, but can't really know for sure. As for the job guarantee (which was the first thing I asked about in my entrance interview) the DON told me they had their own healthcare staffing company? Stories aren't matching up. My friend called to inquire about the program and she was told to bring her high school transcripts, etc. I never had to bring those, and she and I have the same education levels. I will give them this, though-- their teaching staff seems very knowledgeable. I do disagree with their admissions process; their entrance exam was too easy yet their pass score was a minimum of 67%, but the admissions office fails to recognize that students who have trouble passing that test will probably struggle during the program-- I will say this.. If oct 17 rolls around and they postpone it again, I'm going elsewhere.
