Has anyone done an MPH?

I am currently studying my Masters in Public Health and was wondering if there are any nurses who have or doing the same degree?

Therefore are you using your MPH with your nursing degree in the hospitals or are you working privately?

Interested in your comments.

hi. i'm working on my mph (epi track). i finished nursing school about a year ago. right now i'm working on a cardiac step down floor. my true public health interests are infectious disease and health equity. i'll be done with my mph in may 09. i'm in the process right now of applying for a few international fellowships and hope to study ID or HE abroad for a year or 2. if i were to stay state side, i'd probably look in to being a nurse epidemiologist or doing outreach work for the local health dept.

compared to my regular mph peers, i think nursing gives me more insight to some of the practical applications of health care and the health care system. hope this helps

Hi Pshs,

Thanks for your comments. So you love Epi? Great you can help me with my Nutritional Epi assignment I am currently working on. I will be finished this degree in 8 weeks. Yahooooooooooooooooooooo!

Should check out the south pacific area for jobs or fellowships. Lots of work with out indigenous people at the moment. We have lots of American's and Canadians currently studying their MPH here in Brisbane Australia.

The two degrees marry well - more options I am sure. I too and interested in Infectious Diseases and Nutrition and communicable diseases.

Take care and all the very best to you.
