Has anyone done CNA training through the Red Cross?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

i'm considering taking a 4-week course through the Red Cross in Canoga Park. Has anyone ever gone through this program? How was the experience for you? It's pretty pricey, but I want to get trained during the summer and, unfortunately, the less expensive options (i.e. community colleges) don't offer classes till the fall.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

thanks.

Hey Mikomay,

I read your post and am considering taking the CNA class through the red cross in Canoga. I was wondering if you can send me the info about the worksource grant please. If you can do this that would be GRRREEAT!!!

Thanks a bunch,

lilpeapods, i saw your posts in the mecn forum. don't be discouraged and keep gaining healthcare experience! going for a cna license is a great way of getting patient contact and an easy door into working in healthcare. i live in la and just finished the cna training through the red cross in commerce in january. my instructor (may) actually teaches at canoga park and was just substituting for my class. let me tell you, the training was great! i learned so much during clinicals and may really prepared me for the state boards. the price is hefty but there is actually a government grant through worksource that pays for the entire $1500! message me and i can send you all the details :nurse:

Hi I was wondering if you could email me the info on WorkSource I would truly appreciate it.

I took my CNA class through Red Cross and while I admit it is pricey, it is COMPLETELY worth it. Red Cross is prestigious by all counts and only wants to be seen as such and they honestly offer only the best. They will refund and drop out people who they don't see fit to be a CNA, 2 out of my class of 8 were dismissed with a refund. My teacher was literally a mentor and still is to me, the Red Cross is extremely protective over the ones they like, they will give you scholarships etc. for further training and assist you with jobs in every aspect.

Hi Mikomay,

I'm not sure if you're still checking these posts, but if you are, would you mind emailing me as well with the WorkSource info? Thank you in advance! :D [email protected]

Hi Mikomay I'm new on this site I was looking for input on the cna training through red cross. Tomorrow I will be visiting the red cross in commerce to get info on when the next class starts. It is pricey and was wondering if you would give me a little more info on the work source grant, if possible. Anything will help. Thanks! Also, how is nursing going for you?
