Has Anyone Been Accepted For HFCC Fall 08

hey guys i'll be going into hfcc program august 08 which is about 4 more months.

i haven't recieved a letter yet but, i know for certain taht i'm going in, is there anyone elso going in?

let me know so that we can chat about it.

i'm very anxious and can't wait.

I have no record of my immunizations (I'm too old and my parents lost them) but I have been doing my Hep B series (last one due in July). The titer should cover me right? Meaning, I don't really need a shot record if I get a shot for anything shown missing in my titer? If that is true, can you get your shots at the same place they do the titer? I've been getting my Hep B done thru the county. Thank you for any info you have.

Yes, the titers cover what you need for HFCC, and you can get any other vaccines from the county. ALWAYS call to make sure, though. There is a county office at the corner of Van Born and Venoy in Westland, as well as other offices.

HFCC will direct you to a place where you can get a $10 TB screen, if needed. They also direct you to a drug screen place in Dearborn with whom they have contracted. You have to give a generous urine sample,and if you can't produce it all in one effort, they throw it out and make you 'fill up' for another.:uhoh21: It's like a test - don't blow it the first time!! Show up 'full' for the test!! (Much like an ultrsound.)

Also, there is a place called Health Solutions in Allen Park that you can get into in under a week for your BLS. Once you get that, hang on to it, because you will need it again for an extern job, and a project you do your last semester at HFCC. (See how confident I am you will get in???? :yeah: I am telling you about school work you will eventually do!!)

Be organized and keep all this stuff together. It saves lots of headaches later on when you have accumulated the equivalent of three trees' worth of paper from nursing school. :banghead: :nurse:
