Has Anyone applied and NOT gotten in to Apollo?

U.S.A. Nevada

Hi,

I'm looking at schools in state and out of state LPN to RN bridge.I have all my pre's done thru CSN, but am sick of their waiting lists blah blah blah, I have A's in everything.I have heard Apollo(which I understand is very costly) starts 3x/year.

Anyway my real question is has anyone applied, passed their entrance exam and NOT gotten in on the first try?

I have heard they are getting a waiting list. I can't imagine that with the way the economy is ,there are that many people able to afford their tuition, even with the loans and/ or want to spend that kind of money. The federal loans do not cover the entire cost.

Anyone want to share their recent experiences good or bad?

i went through the CSN LPN to RN bridge and they don't have a waiting list. they take you according to GPA, if you have a 4.0 you should get in. i know many apply to their program, when i got in 18 LPN's applied and the top 8 got in. then the next semester they let the last 10 in they didn't accept when our group got in. this was a few years ago, but from what understand from one of my friends who is a teacher there , things haven't changed ( at least the bridge program). i loved their program it was awesome and i learned alot.

i hear from appollo that you would have to start from the begining and get no credit for your LPN. i guess they have a good acceptance rate. good luck and keep us posted !!

I was told they have a waiting list (CSN) maybe now because of the economy, people are rushing to school who knows, my friend is in their program now and was on a waiting list also took her 2 times to get in she also had all A's and her pres completely done before even applying.

I find that hard to believe. I'm a first semester CSN student and when I applied I had A's and B's in my pre-reqs and one class not completed and I was accepted. So at this point there is not a waiting list.

i'm going to have to check this out myself. one of my friends is a teacher there and i am going to call her tommrow after she gets out of class. CSN has never had a waiting list, you either get in or you don't. the program is great and very rigorous, and worth it. please don't give up on CSN .

believe me they don't have to worry about the ecomony , they have plenty of students to choose from each semester.

I didn't mean CSN has to worry about the economy, I meant that there are probably more students signing up for schools everywhere(in all kinds of programs), looking to get a degree in a more stable field due to this economy.

Exactly what you said they have plenty of students to choose from each semester, thus creates waiting lists for limited entry programs, if they only have so many seats and more students apply than seats available then you have to wait.KWIM

there is no waiting list at CSN. if you have a 4.0 GPA then you will get into the bridge program. CSN always have had 400 applicants a semester applying ( you get in or you don't, they don't put you on a list if you don't get in the first time ). , try it !! i bet you get in first try !! go where you can get credit for being a LPN, they have 2 special classes for LPN to transition for RN. it's sooo worth it !!! very good nursing program !!

the program tried and true for boards, i wish you the best of luck in your schooling and please keep us posted on schooling !! :)
