I've recently graduated from nursing school, and unfortunately have two arrests, both times these arrests were rejected by the d.a and I have no convictions. I have been waiting 3 months to hear from the BON but I've heard nothing. I've submitted all necessary documents, my question is: has anyone had Their application rejected by the BRN for having arrests, but no convictions? This is the boat I'm in. I've even completed therapy and necessary classes to shoe I've sought help, even though it was not required of me by the court since the court rejected my charges. Any stories would help.

I am in the same boat. Graduated in May and have not heard anything yet. Our board of nursing only meets every 2 months, so that has kind of eased the waiting; when I don't get a letter for their meeting at that month then I know not to expect anything until their meeting 2 months later.
I have a past drug history, a juvenile record that is equivalent to a third degree felony-aggravated vehicular assault (this does not show on background checks), and I had been hospitalized and to rehab. This was all 4 years ago, when I was 18. I reached sobriety at 18, and have stayed there. My application to the board was 370 pages that included past records, current transcripts, awards, reference letters from all of my professors that were aware of my situation, letters from my psychiatrist and psychologist that stated they feel should be licensed, medical records.
I had spent the entire 2.5 years in school worried that I would not be licensed, but I am at a point now that I actually feel confident that I will be-even with my history.
Good luck!
Hey kaydensmom, are you applying in California? If so then thanks for telling me they meet every two months I had no idea. It does ease the waiting.
I did not apply to California but it looks like they meet monthly; Sept 11-12, Oct 1, Nov 6-7. So you know the chances of getting a letter is much more likely the week after them dates, and don't even expect anything in-between which should help some.
