Hi all,
Is it harder for males who want a career change and who want to go into nursing either for a BSN or ADN-RN to get into nursing schools? Any opinions would be nice and any advice would be greatly appreciated since I would like to go to nursing schoool.

I was just accepted and start in Jan 07. During my orientation, we only had about 4-5 guys out of 40+ students; some of these males were alternates. I do think that there's a possibility of males being preferred, but I doubt that they would do this. I believe schools are mainly concerned with whether or not a student can get through the program; therefore, the grades would have to show this potential.
Some of my buddy's did very poorly in the prerequisites, and it seemed that they didn't care much. These guys obviously didn't get in.
I surely hope it's an equal opportunity for all. Actually, one of my friends did exceptionally well in his classes, his name is Kelly.
