Hi everyone! I was recently hired for the NICU at Harbor-UCLA new grad program, starting in March 2025. Im super excited to begin this journey and would love to connect with others who are also starting in March!
If youre in the same cohort (or have any insight on what to expect), feel free to comment or message me.

@Becomingnurse22 Hi! Congratulations on your offer! May I ask what kind of questions they asked during the interview?

If you don't mind sharing. Will you be on nights or days, and how much is the hourly pay?

Thank you!! And the interview questions were pretty standard (no clinical scenarios). Tell me about yourself, why did you become a nurse, work history, what do you think you'll struggle with, tell me about a time you were challenged, tell me about your closest patient, what animal would you be and why LOL

Once you receive your results you'll fwd it to ucla harbor with cover letter resume BLS and nursing license. You'll also state three specific units of preference for example if you want critical care you write ICU CVICU ED etc Email: [email protected]

I am assuming they got hired on as a relief nurse and its higher pay but no benefits that you usually get with the county.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. Is that why some of my friends are getting $46 an hour versus I'm getting 60 an hour.?

Yes that's why, the relief nurses get paid more but after a while they are able to become staff
