Try salary.com to get an estimated result. :)
I looked there but from what I've heard from a few people in different career fields is that the figures there are usually off by quite a bit.(although I think those figures might be pretty close to being right) So I wanted to get some more definite hourly ranges. Thanks for the idea though, thats a pretty neat site.:) I guess I'm just worried because the rate of pay for everything else is so bad here, especially for the cost of living. I don't want to go into something with totally the wrong idea. (I'm going into nursing because I love working with people and want to help them, I just don't want to be thinking I'll start out at say $17 and hour and then when its time to jet a job nursing find out I'm only going to being paid $12 or $13 an hour.
Supposedly the pay IS pretty decent in that area, though.

If you want to work in LTC the pay is usually a little higher than hospitals, MD's offices.
You can expect to make anywhere from 15.00-18.00 per hour in LTC.Some facilities pay even more.
MD's offices pay less,it varies but 11.00-15.00 sounds about right. There is a trend to hire MA's in offices so there are a lot less jobs now for LPN's
As far as Hospitals go I really am not sure. They tend to pay less than LTC.
There are a lot of jobs for LPN's in LTC so if that is something you are interested in you shouldn't have any trouble getting a job.
Anybody else wanna comment. I know there are a lot of LPN's in Hampton Roads.
Thanks to everyone who has replied so far.
