Gwynedd Mercy Fall 2015 BSN

Anyone accepted or applied to Gwynedd Mercy BSN program? They are only offering BSN now. I was accepted into their 2015 Fall term. I'm super excited!

Congrats guys!!! I was accepted as well! Has anyone received an info packet, not the one that they send about your deposit and stuff....but one with more detailed info such as orientation, classes, uniforms, clinicals, etc. I know we don't start until Fall, but I am so anxious! Also, has a FB group been created yet for GMC Fall 2015. I know there is one for Drexel. Just curious!!!

I'm scheduled to register for classes on May 12 and there is a info session before that. I wonder if we get more detail then or if that's just a general school info session?

No, I haven't. When is the info session? Did they inform you via email that you would be registering for classes on May 12th? The only packet I received was the acceptance letter with the deposit information. I sent in the deposit (which they received) and they told me that they would send more information closer to the start date. Are you starting May or August?

Wait, are you a transfer student? I'm transfering from a community college. After I received the first packet, I received a Transcript Evaluation print out of all the credits they accepted from my current school and what classes are left to take. I called to speak to an admissions person because I had questions about the Transcript Evaluation. I asked him what happens next, he said I had to get my deposit in and make an appointment to register for classes. He said they will send an email out about registration, I received the email and they had two dates listed for registration and an info session:

4/21 or 5/12, you can email or call to make an appointment to register. It says that there are alternate dates available. Info sessions is 4-5pm those dates.

Ohhh, I see. Thanks so much for the info. I am doing the Accelerated BSN program. Is that what you are doing or are you doing the traditional BSN?

Traditional. I don't have a degree yet. I guess my info doesn't apply to you then, sorry. :(

Congratulations! Are you excited? I sort of am, and I'm also terrified beyond belief. I saw the NCLEX pass rate for GMU, and it's at 80-something percent, a year ago it was 74%! Insane, because that's really low!

Anyway, I spoke with someone a few days ago and she said that we will be receiving our info packet (which contains dates for orientation, that's all she mentioned) around July. She didn't specify what will be in info packet apart from orientation dates so there's that. I went to yesterday's registration though and was told that clinicals don't begin until Spring semester (2016) for those of us doing the traditional BSN program.

I also did create a FB page specifically for traditional BSN-ers: Gwynedd Mercy University Fall 2015 BSN -- yeah, I went specific.

Hey I was accepted into their fall 2015 program as well. i believe its 14 months? did you take a nutrition class and a psychology class in the level 200's? they're asking me to take those two classes but I already taken them years ago- I'm not sure if its cause they were "intro"to nutrition and an "intro" to psychology class or what. But I kinda dont get why I have to take these courses again...

I also got accepted into their fall 2015 program. I was told to take nutrition and developmental psych which im now taking on portage learning. Did u receive package in the mail for orientation on June 20?

I also searched for a GMU ABSN facebook page but couldn't find any so I created one. Everyone is welcome to join.. Its called "Gwynedd Mercy University ABSN 2015"

I'm late and I'm sure by now everyone has went to the nursing registration and had these questions answered. If you are unsure about anything email the school or call they will answer all of your question promptly. Also, there is a Facebook page for the Class of 2018 and 2019. There are many incoming nursing students in the group, as well as senior nursing students.
