Is there anybody on this forum that works at Gundersen Lutheran hospital? Could you please tell what it is like to work there, and what type of salary you could earn.
I'm an RN in the UK, I nurse on a 25 bed Trauma and Orthopaedic ward, each shift I care for 12 or 13 patients per shift depending on which end of the ward I get. These patients come from accident and emergency department where I will look after them pre op and post op until they go home or transferred to a re hab ward. We deal with a lot of patients with dementia and Alzheimer's.
My partner is American, and we're thinking of moving to the US in a couple of years; she's from the La Crosse area, so we're looking at living along the Mississippi.

Hi, I don't work at GLH but I interviewed there as a new grad in May of 2006 and was offered a job in the float pool. Pay for new grad was (about) $23/hour plus very good differentials of $3/PMs, $4/NOCs, $1.50/weekends. I was offered a job in the float pool which had it's own $2.50 differential. I know several nurses who work there and they like it and think it's a good place to work. Beautiful area, low cost of living, nasty winters.
