Not sure if there's one of these started already, but it's still pretty far off, so I thought I'd make one. Have any of you guys taken the TEAS yet? If not, where are you taking it? I didn't see any dates listed for GSU.
Mine was a little of both, ummnasim. I wrote about how the healthcare system is increasing its focus on disease prevention, and how nursing is an important part of that. Disease prevention/health promotion is something I feel strongly about, because I have a background in public health. The hardest part of the essay for me was keeping it to 2 pages!
Don't be too nervous about the essay. It's not worth all that many points. I think the key to the essay is to make sure it is grammatically correct, and to state your position clearly. I don't think the topic itself holds too much weight, but write about a healthcare issue that you care about.
Hey breezy! I have been so lazy with the packet. I went to the CPR class yesterday and it took 3 1/2 hours; Vonya was a great instructor. I have all my blood titers...I just need to go and get proof of my tetorifice vaccine from my doctor as well as proof of my flu shot from GSU (I got the flu shot last semester). I still have to order the scrubs as well as pay all the fees which I have been dreading... I plan on finishing everything by the end of this upcoming week. I have been such a procrastinator! How have you been doing?
I took the CPR class today! Her son was our instructor, and he was excellent as well. The only thing I'm missing is the flu shot, but unfortunately the health clinic won't have any in until the fall... I'm hoping the program will be fine with that since I don't start clinicals until spring semester. The fees are certainly scary - especially the ATI one!
I've been consumed by work and summer classes - A+P II and online clinical nutrition, the latter of which hasn't really even started, so I have no idea what the workload will be like! Eeek! Still, I'm so excited. It was great meeting some people from the program in the CPR class today.

I think they will understand the fact that no one is really offering flu shots at the moment. The only reason I have mine is because I got it during "flu season". Yes the ATI fee is scary and I have been avoiding it (lol)...her son was there during the CPR Class- they were great; it was definitely great to meet other GSU nursing students.
Good luck on summer classes!
